As our systems silence voices of dissent, I'm building a community rooted in mutual care, focused on healing from capitalism through storytelling and reconnection with nature.
Hi, I'm Kaedyn. An award-winning queer trans storyteller and mystic with a 12th house stellium in Aries and Taurus Rising (for my fellow astro lovers).
I'm writing this from a place many of you might recognize. That space between breaking and becoming, between waking from the illusion and suffering from systemic exhaustion, while trying to find my footing—all while our collective future feels terrifyingly uncertain.
Like many of you, I spent a lifetime trying to contort myself into capitalism's cage, disillusioned by the American dream. I learned early that my worth was measured by productivity, by fitting in, by being "enough" for a system designed to make us feel perpetually insufficient. I burned out in corporate spaces, struggled with being seen as my authentically queer and trans self in public settings, and recently, felt my spirit drowning under the weight of forced conformity and fascism.
Be more. Do more. Earn more. I wasted decades of my life people-pleasing, believing if I just worked harder, achieved more, I'd feel worthy. After surviving SA and other abuse in the industry, I disconnected. From nature, from my body, from my intuition. I built walls between myself and my own wisdom, trying to be what others demanded instead of who I truly am.
Until my soul screamed enough, and I found myself facing the question: how do I survive this human existence while staying true to my authentic self?
Nature showed me the answer—through shared wisdom and community.
Did you know that trees in a grove share resources through their roots? The strong support the struggling. The elders nurture the young. In a sacred grove, no tree is left behind. This is the medicine we, as humans, need.
Maybe you're here too, feeling disconnected from it all. Doom scrolling on social, searching for an ounce of dopamine. Exhausted from trying to fit into systems that weren't built for sensitive souls and non-conformers. Trying to survive while staying true to your heart, searching for your tribe, and wondering when you'll find your spark in the darkness.
That’s why I created this space. I believe we can find our way—together.
Each week, I'll be sharing stories, from honest struggles to victories, as I navigate my own path to freedom. I'll pass on the wisdom I've learned from life, from the earth, and from others. That 12th house stellium in my chart is a rare and powerful aspect that allows me to feel everything the collective is going through. It hasn't been easy! Yet as I get older, I've realized this sensitivity is the gift I came here to share—creating connection through collective pain, empathy, and love.
Topics we’ll explore:
Breaking free from capitalism and systems that cage our spirit
Finding authentic ways to support ourselves
Building communities of mutual care
Learning from nature's wisdom
Creating new models of work and life
Healing our relationship with self-worth and resources
Rediscovering our wild AF souls!
Intentions & Boundaries
Communicating expectations is vital when creating a safe space, for you and me. So, I’ll be clear with my intentions and boundaries.
What The Magic Grove is:
A sacred container for me to share vulnerable stories of pain, grief, healing, magic, joy, and transformation. Stories you may or may not agree with. Experiences you may or may not relate to. Connect with what resonates. Though if life has taught me anything, it's that when we're guided to wisdom, it's usually the medicine we need.
A non-religious spiritual community. I often write through the lens of a soul having a human experience. I believe we all have a deep connection to the earth, to the stars, and to our own divinity. I am not Christian or Wiccan, nor do I subscribe to any religion. If I use words your religion has judged or stigmatized, that's a powerful opportunity for you to ask why.
A space to share rituals and magical practices that I personally use. When I say "magic," I'm not referring to new age sh*t. There will be no "love and light" or bypassing systemic issues or pain. In fact, much of my work will discuss how to escape those toxic systems so you can fully experience humanity in all its messy complexity. Astrology, earth magic, and divination are my tools, but I'm not here to convert you. Each of us is responsible for our own beliefs and our own power. You are not required to believe what I believe—ever.
A community with boundaries. Readers are welcome to my wisdom, but you are not welcome to harass, debate, or gaslight me or anyone else about our personal experiences. This is the primary reason I put comments behind the paywall, to ensure that all interactions are safe.
What The Magic Grove is NOT:
A capitalist venture. I didn't start a Substack to monetize my wisdom behind a paywall. I started this create a community. Yet, communities must be mutually beneficial to all, so if you find my words uplifting, and you've got funds to spare, consider my $5.55/mo subscription.
Forced productivity to feed your dopamine. I'm sharing in my spare time, between hustling to pay bills, writing a book, and my own healing journey. Every post requires energy and vulnerability, and it takes a lot out of me. I'll try to share at least once a week, but I can't follow a forced schedule. That is the system we're breaking away from, remember? (PS I’m neurodivergent so it’s likely I will overshare!)
Therapy. I'm not a therapist or a medical professional, nor do I do 1:1 coaching. I do, however, offer intuitive readings ($150).
Triggers & Safety
My writing, and presence in general, tends to crack people open. I seem to have that gift and often refer to myself as a catalyst soul. Here are some tips to staying safe within our container:
If some topics are too traumatizing, please honor your intuition and skip them. You know your needs more than anyone, and these may not be topics your soul wants to dive into just yet.
Give yourself space to integrate what you've read, and know that these words may trigger deep emotions or catalyze you into an awakening.
Do not stay in your head. Journal it out, create something, go on a long walk in nature, do somatic breath work, reiki, or kundalini yoga (my fav). We have a lot of trauma (energy) stuck in our bodies, and the only way to release it is to MOVE IT OUT. (I’ll share more in a post)
If needed, call an emergency hotline: Trans Lifeline or The Trevor Project.
Transparency on subscriptions
Free subscriptions include all posts and content. The only thing not included is the ability to comment and interact within the community. I'm keeping comments behind a paywall for our collective safety, and because engaging with the community takes significant energy.
$5.55/month subscriptions support this work and give you full access to community interaction and discussions.
Folks can become a "founding member" of The Magic Grove. As a founding member, you're investing in the vision of creating alternative systems and shared healing. I'm deeply grateful for your support! As a thank you, all founding members who join before mid-2025 (when I go to print) will receive a special acknowledgment in my upcoming book. :)
Alternatively, you can support my work by pre-ordering my YA historical fantasy novel. Set in the 1800s, it's about revolution, found family, and healing, and it’s hella queer with trans leads! More here.
If your human self is struggling and your spirit is whispering there must be another way, welcome home—you've found your grove.
